Crafted from carefully cultivated spring sprouts in southern Kyoto, near the Kizu River, Premium Uji Matcha “Yui” delivers a mellow aroma, deep umami, and a clean, elegant finish. The tea is grown on a small, family-run farm that Morii works with directly, allowing a close connection to both the land and the people behind the leaves.
This matcha is produced with uncompromising purity — no pesticides, chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or livestock compost. Instead, the farmers rely solely on natural organic fertilizer made from hand-pressed rapeseed oil cake. Because matcha is consumed whole, every step of cultivation and production is carried out with exceptional care for safety, quality, and integrity.
Shaded, Aged, and Finely Milled
Young spring leaves are shaded for approximately three weeks to increase their theanine content, enhancing natural sweetness and umami. After harvest, the leaves are processed into tencha, gently aged over the summer, and then slowly ground using a traditional bowl mill to a fine, stone-grade texture.
The result is a smooth, vibrant matcha with remarkable depth, balance, and clarity.
Perfect for Matcha Lattes and Creative Drinks
The rich yet balanced profile stands up beautifully to milk. Use 2 g per cup for matcha lattes with a clean, rounded flavour.
For summer, simply add matcha powder, water, and ice to a bottle and shake for an instant cold matcha.
For a refreshing variation, dissolve 5 g in a small amount of water and top with soda for sparkling matcha. Sweeten lightly with honey or pair with citrus. Add your favourite spirit for a refined, tea-based cocktail.
